Some new things

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I’ve added a couple of new things. Firstly, you’ll notice that I’ve added my Flickr feed to the right sidebar. Flickr is where I store my cameraphone pics, since it’s super simple to upload from my phone to flickr. Next, I’ve added a new category called Daily Links. What *should* happen at about 11 eastern is an automated post of the links I’ve tagged at del.icio.us. I figured that would be the easiest way to share what I’ve been tagging in blog form. If it works, I may end up removing the del.icio.us sidebar item.

/usr/bin/geek Trademark

Changed the name of the blog (for the third time). Apparently /usr/bin/geek is trademarked by some other blog/company. Doesn’t make much sense to me, but I’m not gonna bother dealing with it, so I changed.

Excuse the mess..

I’m working on integrating some of the plugins I have with this new theme… please be patient and the tags and whatnot will be back shortly :)

Update
I decided against a new theme. I’ll just make some changes to this one :)

Atlanta and Other Things

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

I spent last week down south in Atlanta for a business trip, which was, well, a business trip. I finally got to meet someone very special to me, which made the whole trip worth it. I was down for training in a coding language which was pretty cool, although I don’t know that we needed an entire week. That was a first for me. Previously, the longest business trip I was on lasted 3 or 4 days at most.

As far as geekery goes, I haven’t been doing a whole lot lately, although I have been writing some lines of code for Castgrab 0.05. Also, my iPod has been running Rockbox for about two weeks now, and I think it’s a lot more functional than I thought. The best part that I’ve found is that I can use any media player on a machine and play the MP3s from the iPod without diving deep into Apple’s structure. This is nice because while at work, I’ll connect the iPod to my machine, then run Portable VLC and play my tunes. My iPod doesn’t drain, and I don’t need to fuss with the controls on the iPod at all.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday. I’m going to be here for Christmas but out of town for New Year’s.

I have returned!

I’m back from my trip to Atlanta. I’ll post a bit more later, just wanted to let you all know I’m back.
