		<description>Thanks for the idea, Nate.  The scratch buffer is fast becoming my friend.  First thing I do in the morning is to get Emacs up and running.  I find myself switching to it to dump notes and such into.  Also, I started checking out emacswiki.org, looks like just what I need.  Thanks!</description>

Keep the *scratch* buffer open, and whenever you find yourself thinking &quot;I do this all the time, I should automate/learn this&quot;, write it in there.

Then during some hack time, search the docs for how to do what you want...even if that means writing some elisp to do it.

Also read emacswiki.org, it&#039;s got tons of good stuff in it.</description>
